Sydney Startup Power Group (SSPG)
Sydney Startup Power Group (SSPG) is an exclusive community of startup entrepreneurs and C-level business leaders committed to supporting one another in scaling their ventures.
Platforms:
Whatsapp group: meetup schedules, calling for help or offering opportunities, welcoming new members.
LinkedIn group: discussions, ideas, links, debates.
Our group is closed, capped by 100 members and all communication within the group is confidential.
Children accompanied by you are welcome at our meetups to support parents in tech and innovation.
A. Goals
The primary goal of SSPG is to foster collaboration by sharing ideas, overcoming business challenges, and generating valuable business opportunities for members.
We meet occasionally in Sydney CBD, with the aim of establishing regular weekly meetups.
These meetups are intentionally held during work hours—Wednesdays from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.—to (1) attract entrepreneurs and C-level executives, and (2) support young parents who may find it difficult to attend evening events.
Attendance is limited to 12 members to ensure the meetings remain intimate and worthwhile, on a first-RSVP, first-served basis.
Each meeting includes a round-robin discussion, where every participant can present a topic and receive ideas and suggestions from the group.
B. Membership
SSPG membership is currently limited to 100 members during its beta stage. Membership is free but requires:
- A direct introduction by an existing member.
- Approval by at least 90% of existing members through a voting process.
- A member can introduce a new member to the group only if they have known them personally for a significant period and have met them in person face-to-face.
To qualify for membership, individuals must:
- Have experience as a co-founder of at least one technology-related startup.
- Reside in New South Wales (NSW).
- Possess any relevant skill set, whether technical or non-technical.
Exceptions: Expats who previously lived in NSW and relocated to operate an NSW-origin company / business acticity, may also qualify for membership.
Each member will be listed on the SSPG Membership Page, which includes:
